Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenace Recertification
Congratulations to Rick for passing his Fire Door Maintenance recertification!
Working in the door and locksmith industry for decades, Rick is no stranger to Fire Doors and the various hardware associated.
The periodic audits carried out by Q-Mark are comprehensive and leave no stone unturned. Significant paperwork is required for Q-Marks certifications and everything from top to bottom is held accountable.
When we found out Rick had passed, we certainly were pleased, but not surprised!
We can’t proclaim which sites Rick has worked on, however, it’s safe to say Rick has provided invaluable insights to numerous prestigious sites around England, of national interest. Overseeing in excess of 8000 Fire Door Maintenance audits per year, there are few doors types he hasn’t been involved with!
POYNTELL were one of the first companies in the UK to be certified under Q-Mark for Installation, Maintenance, Surveying and Fire Stopping. Rick has been with the company for over 15 years and has seen the company evolve with the ever increasing requirements for door compliance.

Q-Mark Fire Stopping Recertification
Whilst the Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenance certification does cover the doorset and Fire Stopping within the architrave, it does not cover the walls that the door sits in.
This is why from a very early stage, POYNTELL saw the commercial advantage of having all three key Q-Mark certifications (Fire Door Installation, Fire Door Maintenance and Fire Stopping).
Needless to say, the building is only as strong as its weakest link. Rick therefore has trounced or mastered the Q-Mark Fire Stopping recertification, once again, to enable us not only to be the leading commercial door specialist in the UK, but also capable of certifying various aspects of Passive Fire Protection Systems.
