Interlocking Speed Gates
Given the minimal footprint required, Speed Gates / Speed Lanes can be utilised in various ways to provide an Interlocking System.
What is an Interlocking System within the context of Speed Gates?
By utilising 2 or more Speed Gates, 3 separate security zones are formed.
These 3 zones can require different credentials to pass from one zone to another.
Examples of usage for these 3 zones
Zone 1
Many buildings have communal areas before users reach sensitive zones.
Speed Gates offer a sleek and intelligent solution to introduce Access Control measures (key fobs / biometrics) at this initial stage.
Examples include:
- Deliveries or trades people may need a holding area, whilst security passes are being generated.
- A café or additional entertainment can be implemented inside the building, but outside of sensitive areas.
- People can enter, or leave this area, as they please, reducing time spent in areas exposed to the elements.
Zone 2
This zone could be seen as a holding area between 1 and 3, whereby additional checks are done before moving onto zone 3.
With Speed Gates, this could be a very small area of 1x3m, or it could be a whole level on a building.
Given the small footprint of Speed Gates, they can be implemented in many locations, including stair wells.
Examples include:
- Additional biometric checks.
- X-ray or body scans.
- Visual / CCTV / Manned inspection.
- Weight checks.
- Anti-pass back or anti-tailgating checks.
Zone 3
This zone is only accessible if all the checks are met in Zone 1 and Zone 2.
Going from zone 3 back to zone 2 could require exactly the same level of checks, or it could be that users can exit, without any requirements at all (free flow).
