- Escape door hardware.

- Specialist hardware that will assist disabled people to access and move around a building.
- Electric hardware.
- Access control systems.
- Intermediate scheduling.
- Manufacturing and sourcing.
- Commercial awareness.
CERTIFICATE IN ARCHITECTURAL HARDWARE – STAGE 1:
- Handing of hardware.
- Hinges – Different types and how they operate.
- Metals, Metal Finishes and Plastics used in ironmongery manufacturing processes.
- Timber doors and frames.
- Steel doors and frames.
- Seals including fire, acoustic and weather.
- Door closing devices.
- Locking and latch mechanisms.
- Fixings and fastenings.
- Door furniture – Levers and pull handles.
- Bolts.
- Basics of producing an ironmongery specification and schedule.
