POYNTELL & BM Trada Q-Mark Installation Scheme
We were one of the first companies in the UK to be certified by Q-Mark for Fire Door Installation, Maintenance, Inspection and Fire Stopping. This along with other compliance related certifications makes our service provision unique.
Contributing significantly to fire safety in the South East, we certify over 10,000 Commercial Fire Doors per year under the rigorous Q-Mark Fire Door Installation and Maintenance schemes.
CERTIFIED INTERNAL FIRE DOOR INSTALL
Internal Fire Doors are technical products, and require specialist knowledge to install.
Whilst theoretically anyone can fit a fire-resistant door, post Grenfell, the regulation of the installation and maintenance of Fire Doors have been under great scrutiny, along with fire safety as a whole.
This new level of awareness now relies on Certified Fire Door Installers to complete the work, to ensure a watertight solution for the lifecycle of the Fire Doors Assembly.
FIRE DOOR INSTALLATION PROCESS
- Correct technical specification of the door is established – the door isn’t over specified resulting in price hikes, and isn’t under specified, resulting in compliance issues.
- Certified doors and accessories are purchased from trusted 3rd Party Certified suppliers, ensuring the performance exactly matches the requirements of the fire protection required.
- Door installed to strict guidelines, based on a rigid, tried and tested framework.
- ‘Paper works’ are supplied to the client, to provide critical evidence for the ‘Golden Thread’ of information.
- Maintenance plan is provided to keep the Fire Door compliant throughout its lifecycle.
FIRE DOOR INSTALLATION CERTIFICATE
When a 3rd party certified company installs Fire Doors, they can provide you with a certificate of installation. They can also provide you with documentation on the door which will go towards your Record of Activities.
Once installed, critical information on the door will include:
- Door ID / Location.
- Intended Fire Rating.
- Registered Installation Company / Engineer.
- Date of install and recommended maintenance schedule.
- Manufacturer documentation on the door.
UKAS > Q-Mark > POYNTELL
- UKAS regulate and accredit BM Trada Q-Mark to monitor companies such as POYNTELL.
- POYNTELL are certified by BM Trada Q-Mark to carry out installations, maintenance and surveying of Fire Doors. This therefore makes us 3rd party Certified Fire Door Installers.
- We were the 3rd company in the whole of the UK to be certified under the BM Trada Q Mark scheme for both installation and maintenance of Fire Doors, followed by further certification in Fire Stopping.
- The three certifications combined enable us to provide a turnkey system for Fire Door Installation, Maintenance, Surveying and associated Fire Stopping works.
