Turnstiles & Speed Gates
Suitable for both internal and external usage, Speed Gates and Turnstiles provide a flexible entry system.

What are the differences between Speed Gates & Turnstiles?
Both Speed Gates and Turnstiles can be used to control access to an area, or can be set to allow free flowing movements of pedestrian traffic.
Whilst they share similar technologies, Speed Gates generally provide a more aesthetically pleasing solution, whilst Turnstiles tend to be of a more robust nature.
Speed Gates can utilise a variety of obstacle (door) configurations, making them flexible, especially for equality users (DDA). Turnstiles often utilise metal ‘wings’, locked to one direction of access, making them a robust barrier to entry.

Speed Gates
Blending into the architecture, these units often sit at the front of house.
Whilst they enforce a clear barrier for entry, they don’t necessarily obscure the user’s viewpoint. This makes them ideal for commercial environments where monitoring is required, but only low to medium security is required.
With a small footprint, they can be utilised throughout the site, including areas such as stairwells, making them idea for monitoring of user whereabouts, and general control of access.
Utilising various obstacle (door) combinations, these provide a flexible solution, from small foot print to large. Large being more favourable for equality users (DDA).

Turnstiles
Turnstiles have similar functionalities to Speed Gates, however, are often made to a more robust standard, therefore making them suitable for heavy usages, such as in stadiums.
Often made of steel construction, they enforce a robust barrier to entrance, regardless of internal or external usage.
Visually they provide a clear barrier to entry, often reducing the need for manned staff.
